Bell Sunday is the nearest Sunday to St Dunstans day (19th May). St Dunstan is known as the patron saint of bells and other musical instrument, and also of various skills such as blacksmiths.
So to celebrate this, on Sunday we are doing a few activities. Firstly we are ringing a quarter peal before the Sunday service. A quarter peal consisted of at least 1260 changes, and takes around 45-50 mins. This is done in one continuous go so there are no breaks in that time.
After the service the tower will be open for people to go up and see the bells, and even have a go at ringing/chiming
